How estimates work
Every number on Tanqueo shows where it comes from and how old it is. This page explains each source and how far to trust it. Estimates, not guarantees.
Trust levels
- High
- Verified live, broad coverage.
- Medium
- Verified, but on limited data or coverage.
- Partial
- Only some stations.
- Grows with use
- Depends on drivers reporting the line or using I'm in line.
What we tell you, and from where
Selling now
High“Selling · last sale 1 min ago”
ANH last-sale time, about 590 stations, updated within seconds. Selling = a sale in the last 10 min; slow = in the last 60 min. No sale reported doesn't always mean not selling: ANH sometimes misses a station.
How fast the line moves
Medium“~45 cars/h”
ANH live sale stream (drops in the declared balance between events). Matched tank sensors within 10–30% in a night test. Where ANH's balance is 0, the count is a lower bound (shown as ≥).
Rough stock
Medium for gasoline, low for diesel“Has fuel · declared”
Stock the station declares to ANH. We never show this as litres. 73% of values are 0, which means no data, not an empty tank.
Litres left
High, partial“≈12,400 L · sensor”
Tank sensors at Biopetrol, Genex and GASGROUP stations. About 34 stations, mostly in Santa Cruz.
Wait in minutes
Grows with use“25–40 min”
Driver queue reports and I'm in line, times the sale speed. Reports count for 45 min. Without one we say "queue unknown — be the first".
Will it last for you
Partial“Fuel will last for you”
Stock (sensor or usable ANH value) and queue length. Shown only when both are known.
Total time to a full tank
Only as good as the wait“≈ 35 min”
Straight-line drive estimate plus the wait. Shown only when a fresh queue report exists.
Fuel coming today
High“20,000 L scheduled for Genex Doble Vía”
YPFB delivery schedule, published before dawn. Arrival times are estimates from 2025 travel-time averages, so we show a window.
Prices
High“Gasoline Bs 6.96 · Bs 8.68 with foreign plates”
ANH published prices
Drivers report no fuel
Grows with use“Drivers report no fuel”
On-site driver reports. 2 or more fresh on-site reports newer than the last sale override the status.
What we can’t truthfully say (yet)
- Exact litres at most stations. Only about 34 have sensors, and ANH's figure is declared stock, 0 for most.
- Wait time where nobody has reported the line. We say "queue unknown — be the first".
- Where a tanker is right now. It's technically possible, but we never show it: plates and live positions are a safety risk.
- Which stations sell imported fuel, beyond the few that publish it.
When data is late
If our feed from ANH is more than 5 minutes old, Tanqueo says so at the top of the screen and shows the last known status instead of pretending it is live.
